Background

Ainie Haziqah read law at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), graduating in 2013 with LLB (Hons). She wasthen called to Malaysian Bar as an Advocate & Solicitor of High Court of Malaya in August 2014. Shestarted practising at Rusmah Arunan & Associates in September 2014 and later further her studies in Postgraduate Diploma in Syariah Law and Practice in UiTM, graduating in 2017. Ainie was offered to joinFareez Shah & Partners from January 2016 till July 2020 as their Partner and Syariah Consultant.Passionate towards advancing and enhancing her legal practice, Ainie then established her own firm,Nurainie Haziqah & Co and currently serving as the Managing Partner.

Experience

Throughout 7 years of practice, Ainie has extensive litigation experience and is involved in civil and general litigation that includes representing Joint Management Bodies and companies for debt recovery matters. Ainie is passionate in empowering women and girls at all levels, from supporting women as leaders to combating domestic abuses at homes. She handled myriad cases of family matters that include applications for disputed and undisputed divorce, child custody, maintenance for wife and children and other matrimonial issues. With her expertise, Ainie also contributed her knowledge as Syariah Consultant to serve her clients in her own manner by assisting individuals and families to receive the right legal advice.

For many years, Ainie has always been known for her vast experiences in social work with various communities. She volunteered as legal advisors at various local NGOs to educate women to fight against domestic abuse. Apart from that, Ainie is the pro bono lawyer at DHRRA Malaysia since January 2017,committed to helping undocumented and stateless persons attaining their citizenship and basic rights in Malaysia.

Apart from practising, she co-founded 3 NGOs serving different objectives and visions to help underprivileged communities like Rohingya refugees, young women, single mothers and urban poor. She has enormous ambition and passion in making Malaysia a better country to live in. For this, Ainie hasbeen invited to become speakers at public and private universities and platforms to educate and share her thoughts and experiences on local politics, volunteerism and social work and various legal perspectives and issues, to name a few, family matters, statelessness and citizenship, women’s rights and refugees issue. In December 2020, Ainie was appointed by the Law Faculty of UiTM Shah Alam to review the curriculum for Law & Politics. She is also appointed as Malaysian Mentor at Women Ascension, an International NGO platform based in Pakistan.
